Jaime Rivas

Self-Taught Artist with a Passion for Visual Expression

Born into a family of Arequipeño artists, his artistic journey began in childhood with charcoal and pencil drawings. In the 1980s, he started teaching ceramic modeling and wood carving, which led to his first solo exhibition at the Club Internacional de Arequipa. In just 30 days, he created and showcased over 50 pieces, selling half of them.

Throughout his career, he has taught and exhibited his work in Bolivia, Cusco, and Arequipa, in venues such as Telefónica, the College of Architects, and the Chávez de la Rosa Cultural Center. His art spans oil painting, acrylics, ceramics, and wood carving, with a strong impressionist influence, though his true inspiration comes from the pursuit of peace through art.
